Commissioning Week in Annapolis - May, 2009

[In following Ben's motorcycle trip blog (bzrider.blogspot.com) I remembered that I have my own blog. This is the ideal place to post pictures and memories of last month's graduation activities at the Naval Academy. I had been having doubts about how to best present these and so put it all off (typical of me!) Here goes..... ]

Saturday, May 16th - Ken, Peter and I left around 8:15 a.m. It was another rainy day and I was unhappy and uptight until we picked up Mom Zintak (Loretta) along the way. Then I had to more or less pull myself together. I had been so worried about the weather, what the house we were going to rent would be like, hosting a party for who-knows-how-many at a house I'd never seen before (and I'm not a natural party hostess anyway) and just the logistics of it all. It all worked out wonderfully in the end, but I felt overwhelmed just then.

We stopped in Delta, Ohio for lunch at Winchester's then drove to our destination in Somerset, Pennsylvania. We ate at the Summit Diner, a cute restaurant known for their pies and their 50s decor.
